PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS For Baseball Batting/Lacrosse Safety Vest
The vertical position of your PRO VEST® Baseball Batting/Lacrosse Safety Vest on the torso can be adjusted slightly via the adjustable shoulder straps. Please note that the back portion of the vest is attached to the shoulder straps via a hook and loop fastener (hook and loop fastener being the actual generic term for Velcro-like fasteners).
To lengthen or shorten the shoulder straps start by simply peeling the back of the vest that is attached to the shoulder straps away from the shoulder straps. This is accomplished by holding on to each shoulder strap in turn, grabbing the (Velcro-like) hook tab on the back of the vest and peeling the tab away from the shoulder strap. Refer to picture #1 below for a depiction.
Once you achieve the desired vertical position of the vest on the torso the excess strap, if any, can be inserted into the slot on the underside of vest located where the (Velcro-like) hook tab meets the back of the vest. The slot – which has a black elastic border - is located on the underside of the vest between the mesh inner layer of the vest and the fabric outer layer. Refer to picture #2 below for a depiction.
The chest/waist size of the vest is adjusted via the adjustable elastic vest securing belts located on each side of the vest.
Your PRO VEST® Baseball Batting/Lacrosse Safety Vest comes with a combination plastic/foam center-chest pad inserted into the center-chest pad pocket on the front of the vest. If removed for any reason, the combination plastic/foam center-chest pad should be reinserted into the center-chest pad pocket prior to the use of the vest such that the plastic is facing outward, away from the body, and the foam is facing inward, toward the body.
Remove or insert the combination plastic/foam center-chest pad via the overlapped slot located toward the bottom of the center-chest pad pocket. Make sure that the black elastic border on the bottom/lower flap of stretch fabric comprising the center-chest pad pocket rests on top of the chest pad across its whole width when it is in the center-chest pad pocket, including at the side edges of the center-chest pad pocket, otherwise the combination plastic/foam center-chest pad can fall out of the center-chest pad pocket. This will require slightly stretching the top/upper flap of stretch fabric comprising the center-chest pad pocket and hooking your finger around the black elastic border on the bottom/lower flap, particularly at the side edges of the pocket, to pull it on top of the chest pad across its whole width. Refer to picture #3 below for a depiction of the black elastic border on the bottom/lower flap of the chest pad pocket.
Your PRO VEST® Baseball Batting/Lacrosse Safety Vest also comes with a combination plastic/foam spine pad inserted into the spine pad pocket on the back of the vest. If removed for any reason, the combination plastic/foam spine pad should be reinserted into the spine pad pocket prior to the use of the vest such that the plastic is facing outward, away from the body, and the foam is facing inward, toward the body.
Remove or insert the combination plastic/foam spine pad via the overlapped slot located toward the bottom of the spine pad pocket. Make sure that the black elastic border on the bottom/lower flap of stretch fabric comprising the spine pad pocket rests on top of the spine pad across its whole width when it is in the spine pad pocket, including at the side edges of the spine pad pocket, otherwise the combination plastic/foam spine pad can fall out of the spine pad pocket. This will require slightly stretching the top/upper flap of stretch fabric comprising the spine pad pocket and hooking your finger around the black elastic border on the bottom/lower flap, particularly at the side edges of the pocket, to pull it on top of the spine pad across its whole width.
Please note that the foam in the body of the vest is not removable.
