Product Instructions & Care

Instructions for affixing the Powerhook pieces to the back of the shoulder pads:

• Determine the location where you want to affix the Powerhook pieces on the back of the shoulder pads by aligning the rib protector/back plate with the back of the shoulder pads and holding the mounting straps of the rib protector/back plate against the back of the shoulder pads.
• Please note that the lower you mount the Powerhook pieces on the back of the shoulder pads the more height adjustability you will have and the less potential there will be for the rib protector to move back and forth on the torso if the front securing strap is not secured snugly. With that in mind, locate as flat of a surface area as possible on the back of the shoulder pads that is in line with the mounting straps.
• You can position the Powerhook pieces a little further apart on the back of the shoulder pads (i.e., outside the path of the mounting straps) if necessary to affix them to a flatter surface area.
• Clean the areas on back of shoulder pads where the Powerhook squares are going to be affixed with a cotton ball or cloth rag 50%/50% mix of water and isopropyl alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol is available in most grocery stores and pharmacies.
• After affixing the Powerhook pieces to the back of the shoulder pads allow them to 'cure' for 24 hours before attaching the rib protector/back plate or otherwise testing the bond of the Powerhook pieces to the back of the shoulder pads.
• To effect a more secure bond of the Powerhook pieces to the back of the shoulder pads, immediately after each Powerhook piece is affixed, using your thumb or fingers, exert pressure on the Powerhook piece for at least 30 seconds, moving your thumb/fingers every 5 seconds or so to a different section until you have covered the whole piece.
• To effect an even more secure bond of the Powerhook pieces to the back of the shoulder pads, using either a hand dryer or hair dryer, direct heat onto each Powerhook piece for 30 seconds (or two cycles).
• Please note that the 3" long X 2" wide Powerhook pieces can be trimmed with scissors to reduce their length if desired. Please note that we do not recommend cutting more than 1" off of the length and do not recommend reducing the 2" width at all.
• Please note that the length of the mounting straps can be trimmed if desired, but we do not recommend trimming the mounting straps too much because reducing their length reduces the height adjustability.
• When attaching the rib protector straps to the Powerhook on the back of the shoulder pads, push down on the straps to effect a good connection to the Powerhook. The provides for a very strong bond. Please remember to peel the straps off when removing the rib protector - don't yank them off.

• Do not bend or compress foam/plastic when storing.
• Do not commercially launder. Clean with a damp sponge or remove foam and wash shell separately by hand or in a washing machine set on delicate/gentle cycle using low-phosphate detergent.
• Hang dry. Do not iron.

Stealth Impact/Stealth Max/Pro Max Model Rib Protectors

• Peel - don't yank - the mounting straps from the Powerhook pieces on the back of the shoulder pads when removing the rib protector.
• Hang up or store in semi-circle shape when not in use. Do not store flat.
• Do not bend or compress foam/plastic when storing.
• Do not commercially launder. Clean with a damp sponge or remove foam and wash shell separately by hand or in a washing machine set on delicate/gentle cycle using low-phosphate detergent.
• Hang dry. Do not iron.
• The HDPE (i.e., high-density polyethylene) plastic side and back plates in the Impact and Max models are attached to the foam with hook & loop material. As such, if desired, they may be removed to customize the protection. To remove the plastic plates, starting at the top or bottom, carefully peel - do not yank - the loop material affixed to the plastic plates away from the hook material affixed to the foam. Once some of the hook material affixed to the foam is exposed, hold it down with your fingers while peeling the plastic plate away from the foam.

Back Plates

• Peel - don't yank - the mounting straps from the Powerhook pieces on the back of the shoulder pads when removing the back plate.
• Lay out flat or hang up when not in use.
• Do not bend or compress foam/plastic when storing.
• Do not commercially launder. Clean with a damp sponge.
• Hang dry. Do not iron.
