"I think the idea of better protection is and will be a deciding factor of how well a ballplayer can perform. It is much easier for a ballplayer to play his/her best and to be able to concentrate on his or her ability to hit the ball, or be able to focus on a direct hit to them, knowing that the vest is there to protect them as it is in so many other sports. I am looking forward to reviewing this year's model and would recommend the use of these vests to any player."

"After having a son in ice hockey for 7 years now, I still can't figure out why baseball hasn't done this before - that is to say, have more protective equipment - to take away SOME of the fear of that hard ball coming at you, ESPECIALLY at the AAA level, where my own son was hit 16 times one season. He could have been a better batter at the Majors level where the pitching was better, but he was already "16 times bitten, 32 times shy", if you know what I mean."

"I mention ice hockey because over the past 7 years my son has been hit with a puck (which is frozen BEFORE it is dropped onto the ice) many times that was traveling at twice the speed of any baseball that ever hit him, but because of the requirement of all of the gear for obvious reasons, he has no fear even if it hits him. This is the same son who quit baseball partially out of fear of getting hit. This probably hurt me more than him as I loved the game, having played it for 14 years, including into college."

"So bravo for a company like PRO VEST that is trying to make baseball a less-feared sport!!!! And anyone who says baseball isn't scary is just lying to themselves or hasn't had to look at an 80 MPH curve ball coming straight at their head before it breaks right over the plate (just after the first two were 90+ MPH fastballs that set you up). The Pro Vest is well worth the small investment to give the child the piece of mind they may need to stick in there. I'd recommend them to anyone! I wish they were there when my own son was playing - he may still be playing baseball."
